Our next spot light is Tomi Madarikan!
Tomi is a member of Shades of Brown. She intends to concentrate in Computer Science (and maybe Music too) so most of her endeavors are as a member of the CS department. She is a member of Mosaic+ (the collective of minority students in CS created to foster diversity, representation and success for minorities). This semester, she has started working as a Diversity and Inclusion advocate for the CS department. Over the summer, she will be working as a coordinator for the Artemis program (a position that allows her to hold an on-campus camp for underrepresented genders in CS teaching how to code and making them aware of the opportunities that exist for them in Computer Science. She is currently working with the other coordinators of this program to garner interest in schools here in Providence so that as many students as possible attend the camp over summer. In her spare time, she likes to sing, dance, talk on the phone with my mum for way too long, search for new music, and catch up on TC shows such as Desperate Housewives, Law and Order, SVU, and Blackish.
Thank you Tomi for all your hard work!
