Mentor/Mentee Requirements


In order to maintain the durability and integrity of this program, there are requirements to participate in BSU Unite participation. These requirements intend to reinforce members’ commitment to the program. MENTORS MUST:

  • Attend BSU Unite Event 1
  • Meet with their mentee 2X a month in the fall and 1X a month in the spring,
  • Attend at least 2 BSU General Body meetings each semester,
  • Attend at least 2 BSU Unite events, and
  • Complete a feedback form each semester.
Note: If you are a mentor, your commitment to BSU Unite will count towards your eligibility for the Black Solidarity Conference. MENTEES MUST:
  • Attend BSU Unite Event 1

BOTH MUST: Send a picture to BROWNBSU.COM every time you meet in order to document your participation in the program (Pictures may be used on BROWNBSU.COM unless specified otherwise). Note: Attendance at a BSU Unite event counts as one of your required monthly meetups.




Family Group Requirements


Family groups are NOT required to meet outside of BSU Unite events.




How do I become a Mentor/Mentee?


A survey for mentors and mentees will go out in mid September, keep posted for updates!




When does BSU Unite Start?


We'll send out a survey in Mid-September. Our "Speed Friending" event takes place on Saturday, September 28th 5-6 PM in the Underground. Mentors and mentees are paired shortly after this event.




Who can be a Mentor/Mentee?


Mentees are first year, second year, or transfer students of any year. Mentors are third year and fourth year students.​
